Qui itaque vero optio dicta vero

New year, new kitchen! This year is the perfect time to renovate your kitchen and give it a fresh, new feel. Here’s what we’re seeing make its way into kitchen design in 2024, and what’s leaving out the side door.
Make a statement
Farewell white kitchens, it was fun while it lasted…hello, statement kitchens! Kitchens can be a gathering place, so why not make it inviting with fun colors and textures? Draw some inspiration from nature with soft green lower cabinets and natural materials. If green isn’t really your style, lean into the “quiet luxury” aesthetic. Pair neutrals like midnight blues, rich browns, and classic blacks with pops of saturated colors.

We’re seeing a move away from full walls of upper cabinets, and instead replacing them with open shelves...but if you’re not ready to let go of your uppers yet, consider replacing the lacquered white with a stained wood finish for a modern but still timeless look. This also brings warmth into the kitchen and can be further elevated with wood beams on the ceiling.

Lean into subtlety
We know what goes on in the kitchen, but that doesn’t mean we have to always see what goes on in the kitchen. Integrate your appliances for a subtler and more luxurious feel! We’re seeing a move away from oven ranges and instead separating it out. Ovens and microwaves get integrated into the wall while stovetops become flush with the counter. Look for panel-ready appliances like refrigerators and dishwashers that blend in with the cabinetry for a seamless and elevated design. In addition, butler’s pantries and appliance garages are on the rise to hide those pesky countertop appliances. (Looking at you, air fryers and toasters!)

Let your kitchen work for you
It really is the little things that go a long way in the functionality of a kitchen, like swapping a traditional sink for a workstation sink. Workstation sinks integrate accessories like cutting boards, colanders, utensil holders, and more right into your sink for a streamlined and functional space.

Another great way to elevate and customize your kitchen is adding a designated beverage area. If you love to entertain, add a bar area with an under-the-counter wine cooler, shelves for glasses and dishes, and storage for snacks. More of a cozy, slow morning person? Consider a coffee nook! This could include a pull out tray for your espresso machine and a water dispenser. Add in storage for mugs, spoons, and coffee add-ins and you’re set for a decadent morning cuppa, every morning in your own home.
